Can you help us to help Shelley & Prince?
This is Prince. He is now owned by a wonderful woman who is doing all in her power to restore him to health.

Prince's new owner paid $650 for him, as a future Pony Club horse for her daughter. She was also charged $40 week agistment, paid up front until the end of April, due to him not being able to be moved at the time due to transport issues and EI. The proprietor of the 'Rescue' organisation had paid $200 for Prince, and a supporter of the organisation had donated the $200 to fund his purchase by the organisation. Due to the fact that the organisation in question is now the subject of an RSPCA investigation, instigated by other parties in relation to others issues, we are unable to provide any more detailed information at this time. The content of this news entry contains only facts, not opinion or assumption.
We would like to make it clear that: The current owner has not publicly commented on anything pertaining to Prince, she doesn't have access to the Internet as they are in the process of moving. Nor has the current owner commented publicly anything pertaining to the Rescue organisation or its proprietor. The reason that we feel the need to clarify this, is that anonymous cowardly threats are being made to those close to the situation...in an effort to intimidate them into 'keeping their mouths shut'. It needs to be clear that Prince's carer is too preoccupied with caring for the boy to be indulging in anything else, and as such, should be left alone to work with the Vets on treating the horse.
The above photographs were taken after 7 days of Prince being under Veterinary care, and twice daily bathing with antibacterial and fungal washes, antibiotics + vitamins and being fed good mixed feeds plus Lucerne twice a day.
Prince had been in the custody of the 'rescue' for nearly 2 months.
Immediately upon arriving at his new home, Shelley called out the Vet.
The Veterinary report stated: * Severe secondary skin infection covering up to 2/3 of his body * Malnourished and dehydrated * Severe ulcerations of mouth and throat * Teeth abscesses * Hooves in bad deterioration * Weeping and infected ulcerated cysts to hind quarters * Lacerations to body in several places
Prince has already gained some condition over the past week due to the diligent care that he's been given now.
Prince's new owner has requested from the organisation a refund of $150, the amount paid in advance for agistment for Prince until the end of April, as it would go some way to assisting in covering the costs of his care and recovery. However, she does not expect to receive it.
Shelley has other horses to care for, and quite grave health problems of her own. Although none of us can be there to help her in a practical sense, we would like to attempt to at least remove some of the financial burden and pressure that she is feeling.
If you feel you can support Shelley and her family in their care of this poor boy, donations towards Prince's care can be deposited via Internet Banking directly into the Vet Practice's account. This arrangement has been made with Nicole, of Childers Veterinary Clinic (Phone 07 41261958). It is important to state the reference 'Prince' if making a deposit, so that the Vet Practice are aware that it is for him:

THANK YOU TO ALL THOSE WHO CONTRIBUTED TO PRINCE'S VETERINARY ACCOUNT! THE APPEAL IS NOW CLOSED.
PRINCE'S VETS REPORT THAT ENOUGH FUNDS WERE RAISED TO COVER HIS TREATMENT AND CARE. CONGRATULATIONS EVERYBODY.
Stay strong Shelley
