Who is T.R.E.W?
Who is T.R.E.W?

This venture is for the benefit of the horse, not a profit making venture or a dealership of any kind. Triple R Equine Welfare Inc. is a self funded, volunteer run, not for profit incorporated Association (no. A0050043E).

T.R.E.W was born of not only a need for a safe refuge for Equines who are victims of abuse and/or neglect, but also from the perceived need for a raising of awareness in relation to the issue of, and attitudes towards Equine Welfare as it stands at this time in this country.

T.R.E.W began with the meeting of a horse named 'Scruffy'. You can see his story on Scruffy's page. This meeting inspired the inception of what was initially a small program, which involved the rehabilitation, recovery, care and rehoming of horses in need of the opportunity at having a future.

Triple R Equine Welfare Inc. is now governed by a Committee of Management. We are a group made up of horse lovers from various backgrounds, all of us having long been frustrated with the prevalence of horse neglect, abuse, and abandonement in this country. It is a huge issue, and the roots of this problem run deep. We have banded together to pool our various skills, talents and resources in an attempt to make a meaningful difference in the lives of as many horses as we can reach, whether that we directly, or through the raising of awareness and education.

The Committee and supporters of T.R.E.W are spread throughout every state of Australia. In this age of the Internet it's possible for individuals, wherever they are located, to be a part of an effort such as that of T.R.E.W.

We are an open organisation, and encourage involvement from any interested parties. We would love to hear from anyone who feels that they may have something to offer our cause, whether it be skills, advice, or simply to let us know of your concerns in this area. You can also visit our To Help area for ideas as to how you can support or become involved.

The new T.R.E.W Discussion Board is an excellent means of staying in touch, discussing any issues that you're interested in, and following the goings on of the Association.

Thank you for taking the time to vist our site.

Dignity Belongs To All

It is not our place to remove it by our cruelty, our neglect or our stupidity. Man may choose his path but these innocents may not. We have a responsibility to act on their behalf and prove ourselves all the more dignified by our acts of compassion. May all those who do nothing, carry the results of their inaction on their consciences for all time.

Work dedicated to Scruffy - a promise kept

The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated….

I hold that the more helpless a creature, the more entitled it is to protection by man from the cruelty of man."
